Water Studio executed two custom water features as part of The City of Denison, Texas’ Main Street revitalization initiative. The concept design was conceived by Landscape Architect Chris Lambka. This feature draws inspiration from the city’s rich railroad history, particularly its role as a prominent hub for the renowned Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad, commonly known as the Katy. Each 8 ft. long copper podium with a dark bronze patina finish is designed to signify a railway car and incorporates elements from previous Water Studio projects. Six spouts gracefully disperse streams of water along the shorter sides, while water gently cascades down all facets of these podiums. Stainless steel block letters “K,” “A,” “T,” and “Y” prominently pay homage to the railroad’s significant heritage.
